You may have seen similar via a Facebook application.

This is a full online site dedicated to enabling people to show where in the world they’ve been, and discuss it with each other.

I see potential for this type of thing for more “niche” type executions, such as for what we’ve recently pitch to Visit Britain.

A place (promoted by competitions and incentivised by rewards for content contributions & readerships) where “Britain” adventurers and travelers can place suggest travel routes and “secret” locations that others simply must visit!

More on that (as we’d be integrating it with GoogleEarth of course) later if the client “see’s the light” and we win the pitch.
