Google Street Maps: Now in Sydney

Well, we’ve all been to Europe and the US on a global tour of the world, on the cheap (petrol prices are just killing world travel) thanks to Google Street Maps.

Now, we can travel around our own neighborhoods as well.

Ever wanted to stalk or track down that girl you once knew? Now you can get virtual-close and not breach your restraining order!

For all those women now jumping on to stalk me, I’ll save you the trouble and you can just go here.

(Warning: my wife bites, and so do my vicious massive guard dogs).

So, what are the real world benefits of this?

My only commercial thought on it is that if you tie this up with a WebEx or Video Conferencing or similar, then you can “virtually” travel through the grid locked streets of Sydney on a workday morning via Google Street Maps to reach that 8:30am meeting on time, and then click to “start meeting” and Wola! you’re face to face with that idiot client who starts meetings at 8:30am on Monday mornings….and you’re not even out of bed yet!

Bring that on.

So, where do you want to go today?
