Ninemsn Media Reports

Over the last few days, I have (and I am certain you have too) read many articles regarding the recent resignation of Tony Faure from Ninemsn.

The vast majority are proclaiming that NineMSN is on the brink of collapse, and that their audience is declining, citing statistics of their audience decline by 4.9%.

Most of the reports are coming from the competitor media (i.e. Fairfax).

What those reports fail to mention or quote on is the audience share figures of Ninemsn competitors (and I’ve seen the stats, and they’re WORSE than Ninemsn’s decline).

What I would like to see is some reports of a balanced nature, so if there is a journalist out there who isn’t a party to either camp, please get on the case and let the Digtial Media industry know what’s really going on.

One Response to “Ninemsn Media Reports”

  1. Hi – to be fair I wouldn’t say my blog post was anywhere near as one sides as News/Fairfax’s reporting.

I’m with you – all that’s needed is balanced reporting. In terms of audience share figures of all major players, I covered this. That said – audience share figures are of decreasing relevance to those who actually provide the revenue to these publishers, which I can speak of from experience.
